This module is for all school staff, social workers and any healthcare professionals who are working with young people so they can understand how to identify Young Carers and how they can be supported.
There are knowledge check questions at the end of each section. This will be helpful in applying the knowledge acquired to your own work setting.

Renfrewshire Carers Service provides a service for children and young people aged 8 to 18 ( and still in education) who look after someone at home who is unable to cope without support due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.
Depending on the needs of the Young Carer they can be given information, training, referred for counselling, one to one check-ins, group peer support, short breaks away, school support and /or financial signposting
