Carers Week 2026 Theme: Building Carer Friendly Communities
Before we share our Carers Week Events, we wanted to let you know that all Carers who attend any of our Carers Week events will automatically be entered into our random draw with the following prizes:
1st Prize – Mystery Weekend Trip – Saturday 11th July
2 lucky Carers will each win 2 tickets for a Mystery Weekend in association with Lomond Travel

2nd Prize – 2 x 2 pairs of tickets for Afternoon Tea onboard the Bo’ness Steam Train – Saturday 17th October 2026
Step back in time with a relaxing journey on the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway, travelling in vintage carriages pulled by a traditional steam locomotive. It’s a lovely, nostalgic experience that combines great food with old-fashioned charm.
What’s Included:

Tucked away at the top of Loch Lomond, The Drovers Inn is full of character and history, having welcomed travellers for over 300 years. You’ll enjoy a warming bowl of soup, a freshly made toasted bagel melt , and a hot or cold soft drink – all served in a setting that feels like stepping back in time. It’s a cosy and memorable stop in the heart of the Highlands.

Digital Platform – Carers Hub Launch
Ever spent hours trying to find information around local services, finances, training and breaks to make your caring role more manageable? Well, to make your life a little bit easier we’ve created a new Carers Hub which we’ll be launching at the start of Carers Week.
Once you receive your login, support will be readily accessible for Carers 24/7 via the browser on your mobile, tablet, computer, as well as a mobile app. We can’t wait to see the benefit this will have to Carers. Watch this space, get excited for the launch and keep an eye on your email.
Tuesday 9th June

Carers Garden Party, 11am – 1pm
Depending on the weather, we’ll be hosting a party with lunch in our community garden and hope you’ll join us. This party is open to all Carers as well as those you care for.
We’ll also have professional vocalist Lesley Wallace entertaining us.
Wednesday 10th June
Line Dancing for All Abilities, 1:30 – 2:30pm

We’ll be getting together for some line dancing either in the Carers Centre or… if the sun decides comes out, we’ll head out into the community garden!
Cowboy/girl boots not required and all ability levels are welcome!
Our host for this event is dance teacher, Marie Lafferty, who has over 25 years of line dancing experience. Alongside her husband, Gary, they run the Line Dance Club and travel throughout the UK running a variety of classes across most levels of dance from Absolute Beginner through to Intermediate – so you’ll be in good hands!
Thursday 11th June
Caring Matters: Your Financial Wellbeing at Tannahill Centre, Paisley, 10am – 2pm

This Financial Wellbeing Roadshow is open to all Carers throughout Renfrewshire. As Carers continue to face a greater risk of poverty and exclusion, this drop-in financial information event will be useful for Carers who are looking for advice and making their money go further during difficult financial times.
We are going to be joined by The Wise Group, who’ll be promoting their Relational Mentoring service, and the Citizens Advice Bureau, who’ll be on call to answer any queries from Carers. We will also be joined by other local money advice and debt specialists.
Of course, our own team will be there to chat about the different services the Carers Centre provides. Our Short Breaks Team representative can help you find a suitable break from your caring role.

Murder Mystery Night, Bump Off at the BBQ, 6pm – 8:45pm at Skirlies Café
.
There’s been a murder… The afternoon was filled with good food, drinks, and neighbours until tragedy struck and a body was found…
Carers have the option of playing either the murderer or the detectives, or just come along to enjoy dinner and some company. Carers can interrogate each other, reveal scandalous secrets, and solve the murder before the barbie gets cold.

Carers Walk in the Fountain Gardens
Starting in the Carers Centre from 11am – 1pm

This Carers Walk is open to ALL Carers and we’d love to have you along. We’ll meet at the Carers Centre on Thursday 11th June at 11am and head over to the Fountain Gardens together for a scenic walk and chatter in the park. We’ll then return to the Centre at 12pm to enjoy lunch together.

Summer Wreath-making, 1 – 3pm (limited spaces available)

Razieh of Sewing2Gether all Nations will be coming along to help us create some Summer Wreaths. Come along to learn how to craft beautiful Summer Wreaths with seasonal decorations. This session also allows Carers a chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy a therapeutic and calming atmosphere.
