Quarriers Brain Injury Community Support provides support for adults living within the Renfrewshire area who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury. Additionally, we provide empathetic support to carers to address emotional needs, as well as practical coping strategies to manage daily responsibilities.
Supporting a family member with a brain injury can be life-changing, bringing about confusion and long-term challenges for carers.
The service aims to provide comprehensive support strategies to help carers navigate these difficulties. This includes offering a listening ear and empathetic support to address emotional needs, as well as practical coping strategies to manage daily responsibilities.
By providing these resources, the service ensures that carers are not alone in their journey and have the tools and support needed to care for their loved ones effectively.
We are working in partnership with Renfrewshire Carers Centre to provide information, advice and support to unpaid carers throughout Renfrewshire.
Our close working links enable us to refer into Renfrewshire Carers Centre ensuring wraparound support. Every month, we will facilitate a group specifically for carers of those with a brain injury. This group will be an outlet to gain some more understanding about brain injury, the effects on the individual and those around them. We will promote peer support and an opportunity to share experiences. The group will be inclusive and driven by those with a lived experience of caring for someone with a brain injury.
The group will meet on the last Friday of each month from 1.00- 3.00pm at Renfrewshire Carers Centre. The first meeting is on 31 October 2025. If you would like to attend the meeting, please email enquiries@renfrewshirecarers.org.uk or telephone 0141 887 3643.
