Young carers may experience particular challenges on their capacity to engage in learning due to their caring role.

The 2013 Health and Wellbeing Survey of Secondary School aged young people in Renfrewshire showed that 1 in 5 secondary school pupils in Renfrewshire care for a family member with a disability, long term illness, drug/alcohol problem or mental health issue. Our Young Carers Education Worker, Sheena works closely with schools, to raise awareness and help facilitate in school support for young carers.
